Age restriction

An Openair is generally not for (small) children. There is no childcare service. Please think twice about whether you really want to take your (small) children to the Openair. If you take small children with you, please also make sure they have suitable hearing protection.

The admission age for young people staying overnight who are not accompanied by their parents is 16 years. ID checks will be carried out at the entrance. Children up to the age of 12 may only be on the site if accompanied by an adult with parental authority.

Children up to the age of 12 (the exact date of birth is decisive) are admitted free of charge when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Their age will be checked at the ticket desk and the wristband will be applied on site.
Children and young people aged 12 - 16 may only enter the festival area with written confirmation from a parent or guardian. The responsibility lies with the parents and not with the organizer.

All bar operators are clearly instructed to enforce the legal requirements regarding the serving of alcohol. Light alcoholic drinks are sold from the age of 16, hard drinks from the age of 18. All stand operators have been instructed by Openair Gampel to offer at least one non-alcoholic drink (mineral water) below the price of alcoholic products

Rules

It's clear that rules are anything but cool. Nevertheless, certain rules are necessary with so many festival visitors. Here are the most important ones:

  • Dangerous objects are prohibited on the entire site and will be confiscated at the entrance. Dangerous objects include weapons of all kinds (firearms, stabbing weapons, knives, explosives, slingshots for water balloons, slingshots, etc.), pepper spray, laser pointers, fireworks, chemicals, flammable liquids (except deodorants), all types of tools such as hammers (except small rubber mallets), hatchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, spades, etc. (list not exhaustive).
  • Dangerous items removed at the entrance and items confiscated on the premises that have been smuggled in will be disposed of by the organizer. They cannot be returned.
  • The safety signs at the entrance inform our guests of the most important rules of conduct and can help them to act correctly in an emergency.
  • Professional photographic equipment, video cameras and tape recorders are prohibited on the festival grounds. Pocket cameras are permitted. Small digital cams without interchangeable lenses, iPods, MP3 players and other playback devices are also permitted. Selfie sticks are also not permitted.
  • All types of drones with or without a permit are prohibited.
  • Animals are not permitted on the campsite, in the festival area or in the parking lots
  • Swimming in the nearby Rotten and the Lonza in Gampel is life-threatening! These are flowing waters which can change their water level within a very short time. We reject any liability claims. For bathing enthusiasts, we refer you to the indoor swimming pool in Steg, the outdoor swimming pool in Visp or the adventure pool in Brigerbad. PostBus Valais and the RegionAlps regional bus will be happy to take you there.
  • If you want to bring your own drinks onto the campsite, you are allowed to bring 3 liters of drinks in freely selectable units onto the site. Bringing glass bottles is prohibited. Aluminum bottles and cans as well as PET are allowed! Drinks may not be taken onto the actual party festival site. There is a pick-up market at the campsite with chilled drinks at "clean" prices. There is also free drinking water at the toilet stations throughout the area.
  • It is strictly forbidden to light fires anywhere on the site. This also includes all types of barbecue models and gas containers. The ban also applies to all types of fireworks.
  • Gasoline-powered generators have no place on the camping site and are prohibited.
  • It is forbidden to distribute or display flyers or other promotional material.
  • All types of drugs, regardless of the quantity, are not tolerated in accordance with our house rules. These will be confiscated by security and handed over to the police for disposal. Persons who are stopped with illegal drugs will be handed over to the police and reported. This will result in the withdrawal of a wristband.
  • Smuggling goods (e.g. beer cans over the fence) is not a trivial offense. Security will enforce the house rules accordingly. This will result in the removal of your wristband. In the event of a repeat offense, the authorities will send you away and report you to the police.
  • ATTENTION: Guests arriving with self-built or converted trailers, handcarts, mobile tables, etc. already have problems loading and unloading at the public transport stations. Due to the negative impact on the timetable, public transport operators may refuse to provide transportation. Access to the festival campsite is also prohibited. Hand luggage and small roll containers / handcarts are tolerated.

Tickets

Tickets must be exchanged for a festival wristband in the exchange zone. These wristbands must be worn tightly around the wrist during the entire festival. Damaged or loose wristbands will not be replaced.

Attention when buying tickets:
Openair Gampel recommends that you only buy tickets from the official advance booking offices authorized by the organizer. Never buy a ticket that is offered before the official pre-sale starts. The ticket dealers are not in possession of valid tickets at this time. There is a risk that you will never receive the tickets you have paid for. The following platforms are generally not official advance booking offices, but resellers or exchange platforms on which professional and private resellers engage in speculative trading with the purchase and sale of event tickets: Alltickets, Viagogo, Onlineticketsshop, Worldticketshop, Vienna Ticketoffice, Ticketbande, Ebay, Ricardo. We strongly advise against purchasing tickets on these platforms.

We also advise against buying used wristbands on site. If the wristbands are defective, the accusation of "fraudulent provision of a service" can lead to charges being brought against you.
