Regeln & Sicherheit

Rules may not always be cool – but with so many festival visitors they are necessary. Here are the most important points:

Dangerous objects

Dangerous objects are prohibited throughout the entire festival area and will be confiscated at the entrance. These include, among others:

  • weapons of any kind (firearms, knives, explosives, etc.)
  • slingshots (e.g. water balloon or stone slingshots)
  • pepper spray
  • laser pointers
  • fireworks
  • chemicals and flammable liquids (except deodorants)
  • tools such as hammers (except small rubber mallets), axes, wrenches, screwdrivers, shovels, etc.

(List not exhaustive)

Safety boards at the entrance inform visitors about the most important rules and help people act correctly in case of emergency. Items confiscated at the entrance or within the festival area will be disposed of by the organiser. They will not be returned.

Photo, video & drone restrictions

Professional photo equipment, video cameras and audio recording devices are not allowed on the festival grounds.

Allowed:

  • pocket cameras
  • small digital cameras without interchangeable lenses
  • iPods, MP3 players and other playback devices

Not allowed:

  • selfie sticks
  • drones anywhere on the festival grounds (with or without permission)

Animals

Animals are not allowed on the campsite, the festival grounds or the parking areas.

Swimming

Swimming in the Rotten or Lonza rivers near Gampel is extremely dangerous. These are fast-flowing rivers where the water level can change very quickly. The organiser declines any liability.

For swimming we recommend:

  • Indoor pool Steg
  • Outdoor pool Visp
  • Thermal bath Brigerbad

These locations are accessible by public transport.

Food & drinks

Bringing food or drinks onto the festival / party area is not allowed.

Visitors may bring a maximum of 3 litres of drinks per person once onto the campsite. Glass bottles are prohibited. Aluminium cans, aluminium bottles and PET bottles are allowed.

There is a shopping market with MIGROS products on the camping site (see further information under SERVICES – Food Market). Free drinking water is available throughout the festival area.

Fire & generators

Open fires are strictly prohibited throughout the entire festival area.

This includes:

  • grills of any kind
  • gas containers
  • fireworks
  • Petrol-powered generators are also prohibited on the campsite.
  • etc.

Advertising

Distributing or displaying flyers or other promotional material is not allowed.

Drugs

All kinds of drugs are strictly prohibited according to the festival rules. They will be confiscated by security and handed over to the police. Persons caught with illegal drugs will be reported to the police. The consequence is removal of the festival wristband.

Smuggling

Smuggling goods (e.g. throwing beer cans over the fence) is not a minor offence. Security will enforce the festival rules accordingly. The consequence is removal of the wristband. Repeated violations may lead to expulsion from the festival and legal action.

Trailers & carts

Guests arriving with self-built or modified trailers, hand carts or rolling tables may already face problems loading or unloading at public transport stations. Due to possible disruption to the timetable, transport companies may refuse transport.

Access to the festival campsite may also be denied.

Allowed are hand luggage as well as small rolling containers or hand carts (Bollerwagen).

Tickets

Ticket exchange

  • Tickets must be exchanged for a festival wristband in the exchange zone.
  • The wristband must be worn tightly around the wrist for the entire duration of the festival.
  • Damaged or loose wristbands will not be replaced.

Important when purchasing tickets

Tickets should only be purchased from official sales outlets authorised by the organiser (Ticketcorner).

Do not buy tickets offered before the official ticket sale begins – at that time sellers usually do not yet possess valid tickets, and there is a risk that you may never receive the tickets you paid for.

Platforms such as Alltickets, Viagogo, Onlineticketsshop, Worldticketshop, Vienna Ticketoffice, Ticketbande, Ebay or Ricardo are generally not official sales outlets, but resale platforms where tickets are traded. We strongly advise against purchasing tickets on these platforms.

Reselling festival wristbands

We also strongly advise against buying used festival wristbands on site. Damaged or manipulated wristbands may be considered fraudulent use of services and may lead to legal action.

Group tickets

When purchasing 10 tickets, you will receive the 11th ticket free of charge.
This offer is only available through our office. Please contact us by email at tickets@openairgampel.ch.
